HOW TO BE HEALTHY

Health

I want to be healthy. You want to be healthy. We all want to be healthy! Whether or not you actually are healthy is a different story though. Being healthy involves committing yourself to living a particular type of lifestyle. Now that lifestyle may not be one that you want to live, but it is one that you must live if you actually want to be healthy. If you want to be healthy, you have to actively consider not only what you’re putting into your body, but how it will affect you as well.

For example, if you eat chocolate every day, you can expect to have diabetes somewhere down the line. If you substitute that chocolate for an apple though, then you can expect to keep the doctor away for the foreseeable future. Whatever kind of food it is that you’re putting into your body, expect consequences in the short and long term. Also, whether or not those consequences are negative or positive are entirely up to the way that you decide to eat.

ALL of us want to eat however we please, without having to worry about the consequences. Do not think for a second that people who are consistently healthy with their eating habits would not rather splurge on fast food. Well, maybe a select few who absolutely love healthy food and despise junk food. But on the majority, everyone likes fast food because it tastes so good. It tastes so good because it is loaded with fats and sugars. Fats and sugars are much easier for our body to become addicted to, compared to amino acids, carbohydrates, and minerals that we should be putting into our body. So how exactly does one keep a healthy diet then? It sounds so easy, but actually going and doing it is a different story.

One word: discipline. Like anything that is difficult in life, you must have discipline in order to overcome it. Want a six-pack? First, you have to discipline yourself to keep a healthy diet and workout consistently. Want to run a multi-million dollar business? Go out and work your ASS off and make sure you don’t stop. If everything in life came easy, life wouldn’t be worth living. What makes life worth living is stepping up to the challenges that push us forward. Being healthy is a challenge, a challenge that you can step up to or simply ignore. If you accept the challenge though, discipline yourself to actually stick with it, for at least three months. After that, your body will be accustomed to the way that you are treating it, and it will feel like second nature to continue doing it, rather than forcing yourself to.

There is no magic pill that will make you healthy. Do not be fooled by marketers who promise you that by taking some “miraculous pill” you will lose an incredible amount of weight in a short period of time. Now you may lose weight in the short term with one of these pills, but I guarantee you that weight will come back in the long term. Losing weight in the short term shouldn’t even be your goal anyway. Losing weight quickly is not only unrealistic, but it’s also unhealthy. If you have a short-term mentality, you will become frustrated that results aren’t coming quick enough and give up. If you have a long-term mentality when trying to get healthy, you will be able to stick it out when you’re starting to re-consider. So before you even begin on your adventure to get healthy, start with a long-term mentality, so you do not give up when the going gets tough!

Getting healthy, and more importantly, staying healthy, takes work. If you want to lead a healthy lifestyle, you have to manage your lifestyle. That means monitoring what you’re putting into your body. Keep track of what you put into your body and understand that whatever it is that you put into your body will have consequences, good or bad. Discipline yourself to stick to a healthy lifestyle until it becomes habit. Finally, have a long-term mentality about your health, that way you will be able to maintain your health throughout your life.

After reading this post, I hope you start to lead a healthy lifestyle, if you do not already.

HOW TO START A BUSINESS

Wealth

Do you want to start an online business? Yes? Great, go do it!

OK, how are you going to do it? OK, now it’s harder than you expected. OK, now you’re throwing in the towel because it’s too hard.

The situation that I just presented to you is one that hundreds of thousands of people go through on a yearly basis. Everyone wants to be able to say that they successfully launched and run a business. Being able to say that you own and operate a business brings you a sense of pride, and so it should. Operating a business takes a lot of hard work though, work that you may not want to do and work that doesn’t necessarily fit into your schedule or “life plan.” That is why a lot of people end up throwing in the towel: it’s all just too much for them.

In order to start and run a successful business, you HAVE to be willing to put the work in. You have to sacrifice time away from other things in your life; understand that sleep might be one of them. The amount of work that will go into making your business successful will be a lot more than you think, so be prepared to go the extra mile before you even start your venture.

You think your business idea is great. You really believe that your business will help people. You know for a fact that your business plan is solid. Awesome, you’ve made a great start. Now, where are the people? Why isn’t anyone paying attention? Why are you not making any money? In order for your business to make money, you have to actually go out and start attracting your customers, especially in an online business.

In business, nobody is going to just randomly come to your store and buy what you’re offering. You have to go to market and peak the interest of consumers, over and over and over again. If you think that by creating a “decent” marketing and sales strategy to make your business more “known,” then you are lying to yourself. No consumer is really going to give a damn about you. Why should they come and buy something from you? What’s in it for them? In order to even begin to peak consumers interest, you have to convince consumers that they should buy from you, whether it’s because of x, y, or z.

In order to market your company, it is vital that you brand yourself. In today’s business environment, consumers only want to associate themselves with a brand that they can relate with, a brand that they understand. If your business doesn’t have a brand, then a consumer won’t be able to really relate and now you have lost them.

Why do you think nobody really buys off-brand food? Because nobody wants anything to do with food that is bland and plain; unless of course they have no other option. Food needs to be exciting and spark curiosity when you see it. The same is true for any good or service that is out there. Just think of all the eye-catching logos and powerful mottoes you see when you walk into any store. These carefully illustrated designs catch your attention because you either feel like you know the brand, or you’re curious as to what the brand has to offer.

If you want to follow suit, you should definitely take a look at branding yourself to your market in a manner that you believe best represents who you are as a company. From there, consumers who feel like they understand you or want to understand you, will attract to you.

Now you’re starting to see some traffic flowing through your business. Good. Don’t think for a second that this stream of traffic is going to keep flowing though. If you don’t nurture your stream or try to expand your stream, your business is dead. On a daily basis, you must continue to put the work in. Consistency is key here. If you’re not consistent with driving traffic to your business, then you’re not going to be making money anytime soon. Put the work into your business on a daily basis. Go 10X and above the amount of work you think you need to put into your business. Once you do, your future customers will understand that they are getting an incredible amount of value from you for what they are paying for.

That is another topic that is critical if you want your business to be successful. You must understand that value is what you are selling to your customer, not a material good or service. What value will your customer really get from buying your good or service? If the value they receive is high, then I guarantee you your customer will be happy. If the value is low, then your customer will probably not be coming back. Deliver value to your customer, make them happy, and make them understand that if they buy your good or service, then it will help them.. It’s all in the sale. If you can’t sell, your business is dead. You must first convince your customer why your good or service is so valuable. Only then will they really consider buying it.

Work on your selling techniques on a daily basis. What key benefits will your customer be receiving if they buy your good or service? When you’re selling your good or service to a potential customer, focus on these key benefits and really make sure that your prospect understands what they will be receiving if they buy from you.

DON’T be too confrontational though. Be friendly, be understanding, and if they don’t want to buy from you, then they don’t. Don’t try and sell them on something that they don’t want, even if you truly believe that it will help them. If the prospect doesn’t want to buy your good or service, then it’s their loss. Sell to someone else who will truly receive A TON of value from you. You will find much more happiness there.

If you keep practicing this process throughout the life of your business, one way or another, the customer who turned you down will eventually come back to you. And this customer will be frustrated with himself or herself. They will be frustrated because they never bought from you way back when your good or service was dirt-cheap! What will you do? You will sell to them….with a smile!

These are just some of the key principles that you need to keep in mind when you’re starting a business. They are the key principles that I’m trying to focus on as much as possible while building my online business. Without the three principles that I discussed, then you are definitely dead. Like I said though, these are just SOME of the key principles. In order to really run a successful business, you need to be constantly adapting to your business environment. You need to be the #1 person who understands your market.

Read books, attend business seminars, and talk to people within your industry! The more you know, the better. Challenge yourself to put yourself out of business on a daily basis, that way your competitors won’t be able to.

Good luck if you decide to launch a business, whether it is online or in real life. Luck doesn’t have a huge part to play though. Hard work, consistency, and above all else, passion, are the key ingredients required from you to truly make your business a successful one.

5 THINGS THAT SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE DO DIFFERENTLY

Wealth

In my studies of successful people, I have found 5 things that these individuals do differently from ordinary people. These 5 things have allowed them to pick themselves up from where they were, and start on the path to where they are now. Successful people:

  1. Challenge the Status-Quo

In order to be successful, I believe that you have to challenge the status quo. If you take a different path than everyone else, then you will achieve different results. Whether or not those results will help you achieve success is a different matter entirely; but you have taken a path that no one else chose to take. You may have failed, but you learned what doesn’t work. Now you know not to make that mistake again, hence you have gained a bit of knowledge. In one of my previous posts, I talked briefly about failure and its importance. Fail, but fail quickly, and see yourself on your way to making your dreams a reality.

  1. Are consistent

Another interesting concept that I’ve picked up in my studies of successful individuals is their consistency. In order to be successful, you must be consistent. Look at Olympic athletes. These athletes train hours on end every single day. That is why they are able to perform at such a high level. If you could apply the same consistency to whatever it is you think might make you wealthy (in whatever terms you might describe), then chances are that you will be one step closer to achieving that success.

  1. Leverage their network

Successful people constantly leverage their network. That is why it is so important to build a strong network of individuals from different fields. These individuals will have knowledge that you might not be aware of, but since they are in your network, you may have the opportunity to learn from them. Do not try and learn everything by yourself. Network with other people, and you will find shortcuts on your journey to success.

  1. Are both learners AND educators

One thing that I have found that is incredibly fascinating about successful people is that they are both learners AND educators. They are learners due to the fact that they are constantly digesting new information and turning it into knowledge. If you ask any successful individual if they read, chances are that they read, and they read A LOT! Due to their high frequency of learning, successful people usually end up educating their newfound knowledge to students who choose to follow them. In turn, the students end up reciprocating the knowledge until it is passed around a community and becomes general knowledge. If you want to become successful, start reading more books about what you’re interested in, and start following leaders in whatever industry it is that you’re interested in.

  1. Are committed and fully believe in what they are doing

Above all else, successful people are committed to their success. As one of my favorite mentors, Darren Hardy, always says, “success can only be rented, and the rent is due every day.” He couldn’t be more right! In order to become successful, you have to work your butt off! In order to stay successful, you have to continue to do so. Successful people believe that what they are doing will continue to make them successful. They don’t care what other people have to say about what they are doing. Another one of my favorite mentors, Gary Vaynerchuk, is so focused on his mission that whenever someone throws some hate at him, he says it usually just flies right over his head.

So what can we learn from these 5 things that successful people do differently?

  1. Challenge the status quo and fail quickly!
  2. Be committed in whatever it is that you do.
  3. Have absolute belief that you will be successful, or you may as well give up already. Without belief, I promise you that you will fail.
  4. Be consistent in whatever it is that you do, or else you are guaranteed to fail in the long run.
  5. Leverage your network and you may see surprising results. Always be learning, but in turn, always be educating your peers

I hope that you took something away from today’s post, even if it’s just one short snippet of knowledge. Stay on the rise, and I promise that one day you WILL find the path that you were born to take. To Your Success, Euan Swan
